Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of related professional experience; 5+ years of experience aligned to data analytics or data science in supporting multiple ends of a business with analytical recommendations (i.e. Sales, Clinical Operations, Partnerships, Finance, Customer Experience, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience supporting analytics in a healthcare/healthtech environment, driving insights for claims, payer partners, clinical operations, etc
- A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field with strong quantitative foundation
- Solid people management expertise and talent development, with an emphasis on building and leading analytical teams
- Advanced technical proficiency with modern data stacks (i.e. dbt, Airflow, SQL, etc.) and data visualization tools (i.e. Looker, Tableau, Hex, etc.)
- Strong experience working directly on A/B testing, including experiment design, deployment, dashboarding, results interpretation, and goal setting
- A proven ability to connect analytics insights to business strategy, using effective written and verbal communication to influence executive-level stakeholders and guide decisions that drive revenue and growth

Desirable
- Experience within a fast-paced, marketplace-focused, high-growth startup environment with the ability to handle dynamic analytical priorities
- Proficiency with Python/R for analytics/scripting
- Experience building processes end-to-end around data standardization, goaling and reporting
- Experience consulting and/or in possession of a MBA, working across multiple industries and focus areas as a consultant
What the job involves
- Our Director of Analytics will be an analytical engine behind data-driven decision-making at Rula
- You will partner with teammates across the company, including, Data Engineering, Finance, Partnerships, Customer Support, and Clinical Operations, to take ownership of generating insights and recommendations that shape strategy for various teams using data
- As a leader of a small team of data scientists, you will draw from your vast analytics toolkit to translate broad questions into actionable research and discovery plans, perform proactive data exploration to identify actionable insights, and communicate results in a compelling manner, often interacting with senior leadership
Our take
More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, containing giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers do mark it out against the crowd. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasize its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
