Role
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of experience creating content, ideally in marketing or communications, and a background in finance, payments, or fintech
- A degree in translation, creative writing, journalism, literature, or equivalent experience
- You are a native in German or fluent in English with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a strong grasp of spelling, grammar, and a very strong attention to detail
- You can write in various styles, following modern, conversational, and inclusive language guidelines
- You've got a track record of high-quality content that shows your expertise and engages customers
- You're a self-starter with strong project management skills, thriving in an agile and creative environment
- Experience with content tools like Contentful, ahrefs, and Google Suite is a plus. Localization and translation management skills are also valued
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced, German native or English speaking Content Writer to join our Marketing team
- You'll be a key player, working closely with our Acquisition, Customer, and Partner teams to shape how Billie and our products are seen by the world
- Create engaging content that educates and inspires, positioning Billie as a thought leader in B2B payments and e-commerce
- Team up with stakeholders to bring our content strategy to life, crafting engaging copy that stays true to our brand
- Write well-researched, unique content like whitepapers that teach our audience about our business solutions
- Tell stories that showcase Billie's expertise and leadership in the B2B payments world
- Adapt your content for different formats and channels to reach a wider audience
- Manage and grow our social media presence, keeping our communication consistent and engaging
Our take
Buy Now, Pay Later(BNPL) options have exploded in popularity in recent years, with companies such as Klarna and Clearpay providing an additional line of credit to customers allowing them to split the cost of their purchases over several installments. Billie is a BNPL built for business transactions, using machine-learning driven risk models to responsibly finance B2B purchases.
With over 100,00 customers processing more than €750 million on its platform, Billie does not face much competition in its market. While BNPL firms like Afterpay and Klarna could theoretically move into the B2B space, they are specialised in B2C financing and lack Billie's data on the B2B sector. Billie also boasts a range of features designed specifically for intra-company sales such as instant verification, invoicing tools and business payment options which give it a large advantage against any new rivals.
Billie has raised a significant amount of funding from investors, most recently in a 2021 Series C round. Additionally Its 2022 integration with Klarna, allowing companies with a Klarna installation to swiftly switch over to Billie's payment options for B2B sales has removed a major roadblock to its future expansion. This move, alongside its entrance into more markets in Europe, will likely speed the company's ascension to Unicorn status and solidify its market lead in the BNPL space.
