Role
Who you are
- 5+ years working in a team to develop, deliver, and maintain complex software solutions
- Expertise in Golang, Node.js, and/or Typescript
- Experience designing, prototyping, building, and debugging microservice architectures and distributed systems
- Experience developing and supporting a large-scale SaaS platform
- Expertise in designing and writing APIs, and a firm grasp of API lifecycle management
- Expertise with data modeling in relational and no-SQL databases
- Understanding of and development with git and GitHub workflows
- Expertise in test-driven development and automated testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
- Deep experience with Golang, Typescript, Node.js, or JavaScript
- Experience with the JVM and languages that run on it, like Java or Scala
- A working knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes
- A passion for APIs and Documentation
What the job involves
- On the DevX team at Kong, you will design, develop, and maintain microservices that power the Konnect Dev Portal
- The Konnect Dev Portal is how our customers’ users discover, experiment, and integrate with their APIs and systems hosted on the Konnect platform
- Working closely with Engineering and Product teams, you will develop API-focused software components that will materially impact the business of both Kong and Kong’s customers
- Implement and maintain services that power the Konnect Dev Portal. Examples include an API documentation engine, powerful portal customization, and Kong gateway application configuration
- Design and implement solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity
- Support those services in production by participating in an on-call rotation
- Write automated tests to ensure high-quality code and avoid regressions
- Mentor other team members
- Any additional tasks required by your manager
