Role
Who you are
- 5-7+ years of experience of working with an advertising operations or media planning team, client-facing and team management experience required
- Proven experience using one or more ad serving and/or order management systems (i.e. Google Ad Manager, FatTail/AdBook, etc.) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and cross-functional stakeholders while managing a team, multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated with proven analytical, strategic, and creative problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in person, over email and virtual meeting spaces with the ability to articulate complex scenarios to clients and internal teams effectively
- Advanced computer applications skills (Excel, Word, Google Suite)
- BA/BS College degree required

- As a Senior Manager, you will drive media plan strategy, maintain pricing integrity, and oversee the successful execution of campaigns
- You will provide guidance and mentorship to team members, helping them prioritize tasks, manage urgent requests, and continue their professional growth
- By joining our global Sales Planning organization, you will be at the forefront of key initiatives, collaborating cross-functionally, and engaging directly with clients to deliver best-in-class advertising campaigns

- Oversee the day-to-day management of 1-2 Sales Planning team verticals, guiding team members to build expertise in business best practices and effectively navigate pricing, packaging, and negotiations for media campaigns
- Support onboarding and continuous training for Planning Managers. Provide career development support, coaching, and mentorship to team members
- Work directly with the Planning Director to identify resource challenges and ensure appropriate team staffing
- Act as a resource for the Sales Planning team, as an expert that understands Planning processes and how to use ad reporting tools effectively. Provide hand-on support for escalated client needs or highly complex campaigns
- Develop the standard for how to address potential challenges, such as viewability, fraud, and discrepancies, and provide critical troubleshooting skills
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations and Product Strategy teams to develop and optimize inventory and packaging strategies across all properties including digital, print and events
- Facilitate the governance process for pricing exceptions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and best practices. Train Planning Managers on how to evaluate requests with an analytical, solutional-oriented approach
- Contribute to the creation of Planning processes and product workflows, including providing feedback on improvements to drive operational efficiency
- Develop an expert understanding of Dow Jones' product offerings and operational capabilities to effectively guide the team and support business objectives
- Lead project management efforts for proprietary ad tech products and tools, ensuring efficient execution and adoption
- Drive ad hoc projects aligned with business priorities, as directed by Digital Operations-Client Success leaders and Media Sales executives
