You must be someone with really strong experience with React and 3+ years of experience

What the job involves

Our frontend technology is based 100% on React and it’s free of legacy code as it has been built from scratch in the last two years by a very strong engineering team, which we are looking to expand with this position
The frontend team at CARTO is composed of 8 engineers, all of them working remotely from different parts of Europe (Spain, France, Poland, Czech Republic)
The frontend team maintains several products at CARTO:
Workspace: the dashboard that controls our product. It uses React + Sagas + Redux
Builder: webGL empowered, high-performance web application for geospatial analytic visualizations. Based on the well-known Open Source project kepler.gl. React + Redux
CARTO for React: library/framework based on Create React App to develop applications using CARTO and React
Deck.gl is one of the most popular Open Source mapping libraries, it’s a WebGL-powered reactive framework for visual exploratory data analysis of large datasets
Our CTO belongs to the technical steering committee and our team members are maintainers of this repo. Our major contributions there are the MVTLayer, the integration with Google Maps and the CARTO module

Our take

Spatial analysis data is highly valuable to most industries, but making use of such data can be tough. If a business wants to make actionable insights based on this information, they generally must employ data scientists that specialize in location intelligence, a complicated role that is expensive to fund.

Carto provides a cloud-native location intelligence platform, facilitating the storage, enrichment, analysis and visualization of spatial analysis data, without the need to employ specialists. The company claims that its users can access 70% of location-related data that is currently not used to drive decision making, allowing them to gain an edge in a variety of markets including logistics, retail, fintech and healthcare.

Carto has taken a unique approach by recognizing the complications that come with interpreting first-hand spatial data, making it simpler for data scientists to visualize data without having expertise in the subject area. It continues to bolster its offering with new capabilities, such as AI agents to improve decision making.
