• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience)
• Typically 8+ years of related experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to craft strategic messaging, press releases, talking points, and executive communications for diverse audiences
• Expert knowledge of media relations including pitching stories, managing press inquiries, and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets
• Demonstrated expertise in digital communications strategy, social media management, content management systems, and analytics tools to measure campaign effectiveness
• Advanced proficiency in multimedia content creation including copywriting, editing, video production, photography, and graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong strategic planning abilities to develop and implement integrated communications campaigns that align with organizational goals and brand standards
• Proven crisis communications and reputation management experience with ability to respond effectively under pressure and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information
• Expertise in AP Style, professional writing standards, and ability to translate complex technical or policy information into clear, accessible language
• Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent stakeholder relations skills with ability to collaborate across all organizational levels and provide mentorship to junior communications team
• Proficiency in communications measurement and evaluation using analytics platforms to assess reach, engagement, and impact of communications initiatives
