Who you are
- An ideal candidate will bring a strong architectural mindset, a passion for AWS and cloud technologies, and the ability to automate processes for maximum operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of experience building React-based frontend applications and web apps
- Strong focus on design, code quality, and user experience, with a curiosity for frontend technologies like Next.js
- Proficient in React, Node.js, TypeScript, and designing/integrating RESTful APIs; knowledge of Ruby is a plus
- Comfortable across all stages of the product life cycle - analysis, design, coding, testing, and troubleshooting
- Strong debugging, optimization, and unit/integration testing experience
- Experience with Heap or similar tool is a bonus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
What the job involves
- We're looking for a dynamic Software Engineer (Frontend) to join our team. As a key member, you will lead agile development cycles from inception to deployment, ensuring our systems are optimized for scalability and performance
- Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and streamline workflows
- This position primarily emphasizes frontend development, comprising approximately 80% of the workload, with the remaining 20% dedicated to backend tasks
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
- Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale
- Work primarily in React, Node.js and Ruby to improve our user experience
- Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers as we create reliable APIs
- Collaborate across time zones via Jira, Slack, GitHub comments, documentation through Notion or Google Docs, and video conferences
- Analyze manual processes and automate them whenever possible to ensure a smooth operation of workflows
- Work in partnership with fellow developers on implementing new ideas, features, and apps
- Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, Customer Support, and fellow software engineers to deliver features that meet our customers’ needs
- Research and prototype new technologies that can improve pipelines and build processes
- Perform additional tasks and/or duties as assigned
Our take
On a mission to help individuals currently underserved by the traditional credit system, Lendbuzz is an automobile finance platform that uses machine learning and AI to help consumers with little to no credit history access financing when buying a car.
Research found that nearly two thirds of consumers want to improve their credit scores, likely because it’s deemed the only way to access loans and credit cards. Whilst banks and traditional lenders assess credit based on FICO scores, Lendbuzz finds new signals and other relevant data to assess a person’s credit worthiness.
$100 million in lending capital from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is fuelling more warehouse capacity for Lendbuzz's loan origination growth. It has secured its substantial investment thanks to a prolonged period of high performance, having established a year-on-year loan originations growth of more than 100% per annum.
