Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- 4+ years of relevant experience in accounting (public accounting preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of financial accounting (CPA preferred)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience driving and executing on finance processes (e.g., budgets, financial reporting, performance analyses against forecast)
- Sound business judgment and ability to bring clarity through business insights based on deep analytical rigor and attention to detail
- Independent, motivated, and ready to be challenged by an unstructured and ever-changing environment
- Ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally across multiple teams; you are seen as a trusted and objective advisor
What the job involves
- In this job, you’ll be the financial backbone of the company. You'll own financial processes like delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting to guide decision-making, and building and maintaining models for detailed analysis
- Your expertise will be crucial in reporting to internal and external stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions, and managing the company's debt facility
- Own the company's accounting and monthly financial close process
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external partners
- Support the design and optimization of accounting procedures and systems
- Assist in ongoing finance processes (e.g., budgets, re-forecasts, monthly reviews, quarterly planning) to inform decision-making
- Improve operating teams’ understanding of financial statements and budget adherence with thoughtful and transparent analysis and partnership
- Build and own models for in-depth analyses and forecasting, as well as ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy
- Support and influence key strategic and business decisions
- Assist in corporate initiatives such as board meetings and fundraising
- Manage the day-to-day requirements of the company’s debt facility

TruckSmarter delivers a free platform that allows truckers, carriers, and dispatchers to search and book loads, streamlining the entire trucking process.
The trucking industry has been historically fragmented, with truckers wasting countless hours searching for their next gig, followed by more time waiting to be loaded or unloaded – which can be very detrimental to truckers who are often paid per mile. Trucksmarter digital trucking platform addresses all these problems. It stands out from the competition by being a free-to-use service. It makes its revenue by offering truckers same-day payments for each load, in exchange for a small percentage of their fee, rather than charging to use the load board itself.
TruckSmarter has raised an impressive amount of funding from top investors and names in the industry, showing respect for and interest in its solution. The investment will be used to add more finance and banking tools to the company’s driver ecosystem.
