What the job involves
- The Product Platform group is dedicated to providing strategic building blocks to accelerate Plaid’s product development. Think of this group as Plaid’s Plaid
- Owning all of Plaid’s key services, making them reliable and highly productive to work with
- Architecting Plaid’s largest databases, highest throughput services, data ingestion and post-ingestion processing pipeline
- Designing the interfaces, data models and pipelines that provide Plaid’s product teams access to high-quality data on which they can build insights for customers
- Creating and maintaining its privacy governance, risk defense and customer oversight systems for Plaid’s consumers, customers and broader ecosystem
- You will work closely with a highly iterative, cross-functional team to understand product requirements to build Plaid’s next-generation products, as well as the interfaces and data models that power these products
- You will own and lead projects, step up as a trusted member of the team’s oncall rotation, advocate for technical and process changes, and follow best practices to increase overall system reliability
- You’re inspired by our mission to provide the right building blocks, interfaces and abstractions to accelerate Plaid’s product development
- You like working across a swath of stakeholders, enjoy thinking “big picture” and are impact driven
- You enjoy collaborating with Product, Design, Support, Marketing, Legal, and Policy to serve our shared mission
Our take
Plaid builds infrastructure that allows consumers to interact with their bank account on the web through a number of third-party applications, like Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Acorns and LendingClub.
Plaid has integrated with over 12,000 financial institutions in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. And about a quarter of people living in North America with bank accounts have linked with Plaid through at least one of the hundreds of apps that leverage Plaid’s application program interfaces (APIs).
The platform allows companies to create financial services applications without having to hire their own team of engineers to build out a tool that connects apps to its users’ bank accounts. This is very valuable in a world where there are increasing number of fintechs, so the demand for Plaid's services are only going to grow.
