What the job involves
- The Financial Planning team is about providing an amazing financial planning experience to all of our Premium and Generation clients to help them achieve their biggest goals and build long lasting client love and trust
- As a Financial Planner, you will join a high-performing team responsible for supporting our Premium and Generation clients with their financial planning needs
- In this role, existing and prospective clients will be connected with you for advice and guidance
- You will ensure they are taking the ideal steps with Wealthsimple to reach their financial goals and assist with consolidation
- Challenge the wealth management industry status quo
- Work directly with engaged clients on a range of challenging and unique financial planning and investing situations
- Own your consolidation and activity targets
- Work with 40+ clients a week helping them plan and make the right financial decisions, with minimal time spent on non-advice activities
- Maintain strong follow up so clients can actually experience the benefits of financial planning
- Help clients consolidate their assets at Wealthsimple through impactful advice
- Be on the front lines talking to prospective and current clients, getting them excited about how we can help them achieve their goals
- Communicate most of the time via phone and video with clients
- Work cross functionally to bring financial planning advice into our products and communications
Our take
Wealthsimple is one of a crop of robo-advisors trying to democratize investment management. These companies are disrupting the industry by automating many of the processes involved in investment removing the need for human advisors.
But while other so-called robo-advisors are focused on courting the high end of the market, Wealthsimple is trying to provide the same types of tools and advice to all users, regardless of the amount they have to invest.
Wealthsimple does have higher fees than some other robo-advisors such as Betterment and Charles Schwab. However, the company believes that it provides a more user-friendly platform, tailored to millennials who will be attracted to Wealthsimple due to its ease of use and social impact offerings.
