Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a Data Science Intern to join our Digital Intelligence team for Summer 2025
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience working with large datasets and knowledge of data cleaning, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques
- Strong Python programming skills; familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, or other scalable data processing tools
- Familiarity with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
Desirable
- Experience in fraud detection, anomaly detection, or adversarial machine learning
- Knowledge of ML techniques for high-cardinality features (e.g., frequency encoding, embeddings, target encoding)
- Understanding of IP address behavior, device/browser data, or network-based feature engineering
What the job involves
- Work alongside data scientists and engineers to develop and optimize methods for fraud detection and device recognition
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights, detect patterns, and drive data-driven decision-making
- Develop and evaluate features derived from browser, app, and IP-based activity for device recognition and fraud detection
- Assist in the research and implementation of new machine learning algorithms and techniques
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and analytics, to support business objectives
- Develop data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
