Who you are

This is a detail-driven role in a high-growth environment, ideal for someone who wants to strengthen core accounting skills and gain exposure to a scaling finance function
BA/BS in Accounting or related field
2–4 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or similar role
Preference to work in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment
Experience with Excel and ERP systems, Netsuite preferred but not required
Solid understanding of US GAAP concepts and financial reporting
Clear communication style and ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors

What the job involves

Spot & Tango is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our NY HQ team! In this role, you will report directly to our Controller
You will take ownership of day-to-day accounts payable and cash processes, while also supporting month-end close and audit readiness
Manage the accounting inbox and act as the primary point of contact for vendor communications
Timely and accurate processing of bills and cash transactions
Support the month-end financial close process, including owning specific monthly journal entries and cash / credit card review and reconciliation
Assist with audit requests and documentation, working closely with the accounting team
Support the broader finance and accounting team on an as needed basis
