Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 5+ years of full-time work experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of full-time work experience
You have proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, Python, Java, Go, or C#
You have experience with at least one source code management tool like Git, Subversion, Mercurial or Perforce

Desirable

You have experience with JVM, Kubernetes & LLMs
You have experience with functional programming languages like Clojure, Scala, Lisp, Scheme, OCaml, F#, Elixir, or Erlang
Additional skills that would be useful to have are prompt engineering and API design (Swagger, Postman, JSON, REST, OpenAPI, ...)

What the job involves

In the Menu Data Engineering team we take menus intended for visualization and turn them into versions that can be more naturally navigated by voice
We employ the latest technologies, including externally built LLMs, and our own programming language CaiLan, with the goal of creating tools to enable analysts to very quickly verify and build out these voice menus
Additionally we work on APIs to facilitate the ingestion of these menus as well as orders from them
Be a key player in shaping the future of AI-based transactions within the restaurant industry
Design algorithms that can ingest menus and augment their contents to be part of a voice interface
Build systems that can facilitate order placement from these modified menus
Provide APIs for other systems to integrate seamlessly
Collaborate with multiple teams across North America and Europe

To consolidate this lead, the company also made a number of strategic, big-name partnerships to broaden their products’ uptake, with the likes of Tencent, Hyundai, Nvidia, and Samsung counted among them.

By keeping its products customizable and broadly applicable, SoundHound AI was successful in its IPO bid, which will cement its position globally as the sector continues to develop. Although taking a hit from the poor economic climate, alongside many of its fellows, the company has secured post-IPO funds. And it paid off its post-IPO debt in 2024, making it lighter on its feet as it captures new markets and customers in the voice-enabled AI sector.
