Who you are

  • We’re looking for a gritty, operationally excellent and relationship obsessed team player to support Headway’s human hypergrowth to galvanize our progress towards our mission
  • You have a minimum of 5-years of experience working on Communications -- including experience working at a high growth technology start-up and collaborating with People and Exec Teams
  • You are extremely skillful and passionate about Employee Experience and Internal Communications
  • You love to build new things optimizing for scale, efficiency and engagement

What the job involves

  • As Headway’s first Internal Communications Lead, and early member of the Employee Experience function, you’ll play an integral role in supporting our 600+ employees & 400+ contingent workers across the US
  • This is an exceptional opportunity for someone interested in building an Internal Comms function in a dynamic, high-growth and mission-driven environment
  • Build and Manage our Company Internal Playbooks and Systems, which include but are not limited to:
  • Design new company communications tools and processes to ignite Employee Engagement and Cultural Principles, for example via new company newsletters and fireside chats
  • Lead our company weekly All Hands to galvanize our culture and progress towards our mission
  • Support Employee and People Team Communications
  • Revamp our Company Surveys strategies -- from leading our bi-yearly Company Engagement and DEI&B Survey, to supporting new survey strategy & analysis
  • Ignite employee brand communications externally

Our take

1 in 4 US citizens are currently living with treatable mental health conditions, however, a vast majority of people are unable to access the care they need, the primary reason being cost. Headway connects clients with therapists who accept insurance as payment and provides independent practitioners with the tools and resources needed to serve their patients and manage administrative workloads.

Headway’s concept is timely, with national mental health under particular strain following events from the past few years. The company facilitates over 300,000 appointments per month and has attracted backing from the likes of Accel and Google Ventures.

Covering 16 states and the District of Columbia, the company intends to broaden its presence across the US using its 2023 Series C funding of $125 million. This is a crucial avenue for further growth, as medical care deserts across the US mean the potential market is vast.
