Role
Who you are
- Experience in the restaurant industry is a plus, especially given the unique payroll intricacies for one of our venues in California
- 5+ years’ experience payroll processing required
- Proven experience in payroll processing within the restaurant and retail industry, particularly with California payroll regulations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills preferred
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Dayforce; experience with Tiphaus and Micros is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Experience with multi-state payroll is required
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and the organization
- Consistently demonstrates a commitment to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
What the job involves
- The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing complex payroll issues and supporting the Payroll Accountant in daily operations
- This role involves processing off-cycle payroll, handling multi-state payroll for terminations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy across various systems
- This is an hourly position that will require availability on weekends and evenings
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll processing for all Cosm employees
- Oversee the integrity of payroll data input into payroll system
- Support the Payroll Accountant with day-to-day payroll operations, including multi-state payroll processing and terminations
- Review timesheets for accuracy, including missed hours and tips
- Reconcile data between different systems to ensure accuracy
- Handle complex payroll issues and provide resolution
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll Accountant on various payroll tasks and projects
- Troubleshoot discrepancies, exceptions, payment holds, compliance issues, etc
