Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of Enterprise SaaS sales experience, preferably in the supply chain or global trade space
- Proven success in lead generation and prospecting, and consistently closing 6-figure deals
- Possess an understanding of SaaS financial metrics
- Expert pipeline management
- Ability to embrace feedback and hold yourself accountable
- Willingness to learn the basic concepts of data fusion and machine learning, and to position our product to both technical and commercial audiences
- Proven ability to build positive relationships and influence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to be personable yet persistent
- Good judgment and willingness to roll up sleeves to do what is necessary to meet team goals
What the job involves
- The Account Executive (AE) will have the opportunity to sell an AI-powered supply chain network & visibility platform to a global corporate audience. They will leverage and build relationships with large multinationals to deliver the Altana platform to help these enterprises see across borders, build supply chain resilience, and manage risk
- AEs work with some of the top technical and domain experts in trade, law enforcement, and international affairs as thought partners and strategic advisors, leveraging our eminent advisory board and investor base for C-Suite access to the Fortune 1000. In this role, they will be responsible for closing six and seven-figure subscription sales of our AI platform to enterprise buyers
- Create sales pipeline through researching and targeting relevant companies using the latest prospecting tools
- Build and develop enterprise leads who have needs that interact with Altana’s core value proposition
- Work full cycle deals from outbounding to close, including as a key member of the deal team in negotiating and executing contracts
- Become an expert in the Altana product, including the ability to demonstrate the technology on your own to external stakeholders
- Partner with account managers and the implementation team to enable growth opportunities for closed deals
Our take
Altana’s platform provides a shared source of truth for the global supply chain. The idea is that this will help businesses and governing powers optimize global commerce which, over the past few years, has shot up on the list of international priorities. With three quarters of businesses reporting recent supply chain disruptions, and governments increasingly concerned with mitigating security threats, data-driven visibility is more sought after than ever before.
Crucially, the platform doesn’t require data sharing to create global intelligence, instead using a federated machine learning approach. This is a nut many big-data companies have been trying to crack, and Altana’s success has attracted interest from top-tier investors like Google Ventures and Floating Point alongside contracts with the UK Department of Business & Trade. A number of other headline enterprises and government agencies are already on the company's customer roster.
With companies looking to recoup some of the $4T reportedly lost in supply chain disruptions over recent years, and the push for global databases getting stronger, logistics startups are having a fruitful investment period. Altana is crafting a remarkable product at a highly marketable time, and with good uptake so far. Backed by substantial funding, Altana is set for a strong few years.
