Who you are
- Proven experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role
- Demonstrable skills in proactive external communications alongside external reputation and issues management
- Communications experience within financial services and / or wealth management and private banking would be helpful, but isn’t essential
- Great business partnering and relationship building skills, able to cultivate a brilliant internal network of subject matter experts
- A creative problem solver, with an in-depth understanding of the communications landscape, challenges and opportunities and a high level of commercial and risk awareness
- Comfortable and experienced in working in a matrix environment, with a growth mindset and can-do attitude, so we can create great communication outcomes
- A solid understanding of our internal and external audiences; and using this understanding to tailor our communication activity for maximum impact
- Effective at prioritising multiple demands and working within tight timescales, alongside outstanding attention to detail
- Able to think differently and bring new ideas; working with pace and efficiency
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Communications Business Partner to join us in the Group Corporate Affairs Consumer team at Lloyds Banking Group for twelve months
- You’ll help protect and advance the Group’s reputation, alongside delivering communication activity that supports the reputation of our well known consumer brands including Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland and Halifax
- You’ll find and tell some of the best stories across the company, and work across programmes and activity to engage our corporate stakeholders
- You’ll be guiding and advising on corporate communications for the UK’s biggest consumer bank
- Reporting into the Head of Communications for Consumer, you'll help set out and guide external and internal communications activity
- You’ll provide critical reputational counsel to areas in our Consumer business – which includes mobile, digital, telephone and branch banking, alongside private banking and wealth
- From finding compelling stories to tell and leading integrated campaigns, through to managing reactive media issues and getting under the skin of the business - no two days are the same!
- You'll play a big role in supporting our Consumer teams with our transformation as we help Britain prosper
- Define and deliver integrated communications strategies to support the Consumer banking areas at Lloyds Banking Group
- Works closely and collaboratively with teams across GCA and with subject matter experts across the Group, providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation
- Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing the Consumer business units; exploring innovative and creative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the Group
- Join – and often lead - matrix teams or squads to deliver integrated campaigns: bringing our media relations, internal communications, public affairs, digital, social and marketing teams together to create best-in-class activity
- Create great relationships with our communications specialists across Group Corporate Affairs to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the Group and consumer brands to media, politicians, opinion formers and our employees
- Be part of an award-winning Corporate Affairs team working across the communications remit for some of the UK's most iconic brands
