Who you are

Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of experience as an executive assistant or similar in an office setting
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications and project management software tools
Experience supporting a high-level executive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Hospitality or event planning experience
Several years of professional experience and strong computer literacy
Ability to participate in developing project scope, managing project schedules, and following up with stakeholders appropriately
Superior organizational skills including excellent written and verbal communication
Initiative in resolving problems and an independent worker, with enthusiasm and an energetic approach to work
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously
Position will require extended hours and weekend work
Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed. Up to 25% local travel

What the job involves

Provide project management and maintain momentum on high-priority projects, including but not limited to, resource planning, onboarding new department members, space planning, and strategy development for efficiencies among teams
Coordinate meetings, manage schedules, make appointments, serve as a point of contact for onsite contractors, screen and delegate incoming calls, and provide other general assistance as required
Organize and set up company events such as holiday parties, company picnics and milestone celebrations
Perform potentially confidential and complex administrative duties involving Excel, Word and PowerPoint including, typing letters, creating/updating spreadsheets, and compiling presentations
Exhibit a strong attention to detail, ability to adapt to daily schedules and routines, and a focus on efficiency without sacrificing quality
Manage the scheduling, coordination, and administration of corporate housing
Coordinate and schedule contractors and vendors for regular services
Manage in-house fleet of vehicles, including but not limited to regular maintenance, registrations, and assignments
Provide general support for various departments, including but not limited to: Executive Leadership, Business Development, Construction Management, Engineering, Production, and Human Resources
Manage company swag, snacks, meals, and employee engagement programs for Bastrop, TX
Work with procurement teams to ensure we are running a world-class operation and are always mission-ready
There will be a lot of field work, 50% of the time will be walking around our factory and being a go-to person for company operations

Our take

Addressing urban congestion, The Boring Company aims to build tunnel systems in major US cities, as well as products that help transport materials underground with as little disruption as possible. Founded by Elon Musk, the company boasts both strong initial support as well as a good deal of scepticism towards its mission.

The company has raised impressive funding, including a $675 million Series C in 2022, and is a certified Unicorn. It has completed successful tunnel projects in Las Vegas, although safety concerns were raised in 2024 regarding a tunnel planned to span 68 miles beneath the Nevada city.

Its certainly an interesting proposition, but we will have to wait and see how The Boring Company's projects really fare in reducing overground traffic. Meanwhile, the success of the company has been a little obscured by the use of its website to advertise zombie apocalypse “not-a-flamethrowers” and a retail page for Elon's “Burnt Hair” fragrance.
