Who you are
- BA or MA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant field; experience in a similar role is most important
- Strong proficiency in Java Spring boot and hands-on experience with backend development
- Experience with Java or .NET is also relevant and can be considered
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and problem- solving
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment
- Experience with the financial markets or trading platforms is a plus, but not required
- Fluent in English
What the job involves
- As a Senior Backend Engineer at Public, you will become part of a 35-person development team located in Carlsbergbyen Copenhagen. In collaboration with the rest of the Copenhagen office, you will develop Public’s cutting-edge trading platform, enabling users to buy and trade stocks and options seamlessly.
- Public is looking for a candidate with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit; someone who is willing to learn quickly, take responsibility, and drive initiatives forward. Public operates in a unique and transformative market, which creates an exciting, innovative, and challenging technical environment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs using Java Spring boot
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements
- Optimize performance and scalability of our trading platform to ensure a seamless user experience
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code quality and reliability
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
