Who you are

A passionate engineer: You love to take on difficult, seemingly impossible technical problems and dig in to find creative ways to solve them

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
4+ years of software development experience, frontend focus preferred
Expert in Typescript and React or similar frontend framework
Strong proficiency with Next.js
Working knowledge of backend service development in C#, Node.js, Go, or similar
Experience working in distributed system architectures is preferred
Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platform providers is preferred
A desire to take on team leadership and mentorship responsibilities

What the job involves

Build and develop both player facing and internal web applications
Take ownership of a sophisticated game live operations platform and drive forward its architecture and feature set
Work closely with other engineering teams and internal stakeholders to translate product requirements into powerful capabilities for the organization

Our take

1047 Games is an independent game developer and the creator of Splitgate. The team initially developed the game as a side project but due to its quick rise in popularity, they turned their focus entirely on Splitgate.

A free-to-play first-person shooter, Splitgate launched to players' screens in July of 2021 and within the first few weeks of its release, surpassed 10M downloads. The game has attracted a large player base and is a popular choice on Twitch, with many streamers playing and promoting the game to their audiences. Due to the success of the game, 1047 has secured partnerships with various eSport organizations with the game being featured in many eSport tournaments and events.

Development on the game has begun to slow down, but the developers have announced they are now turning their focus to a new game that will be set in the Splitgate universe. While there is little information on what this new game will involve, 1047 is in a strong position to continue to grow and make a name for itself in the gaming industry due to the success Splitgate has demonstrated.
