Role

Who you are

  • You are a student or you have just finished your studies in business or engineering and you are looking for a 6 months paid internship
  • Autonomous, fast-learner, enthusiastic, team-player, and willing to test new things
  • A strong interest in the Digital Marketing field and/or a previous experience on this field
  • Analytic skills (you master Excel and are ideally familiar with SQL)
  • English + Italian or Spanish fluent (French is a plus)

What the job involves

  • You'll play a crucial role in improving Papernest's platforms visibility, working directly with our project managers, based in Barcelona. You will be responsible for improving the ranking of our pages to drive organic traffic towards Papernest's French websites by leveraging the following strategies:
  • Digital Project Management : Manage the optimisation of our platforms in collaboration with our project managers, copy writers, developers, and designers
  • Email Marketing Campaigns : Launch automated email campaigns to improve deliverability and conversion rates adopting best of breed technologies
  • Web Analytics : Monitor and analyse the performance of various campaigns, leveraging insights for continuous improvement
  • Lead Generation : Adopt scraping methods and tools to extract data, identify contacts, and create high quality databases enriched with interests and writing styles information
  • Growth Hacking: Propose innovative ideas to enhance the visibility of our websites
  • R&D : Conduct technological research to identify growth opportunities and develop relevant ideas for our growth strategy
  • Content Marketing : Create optimised content (articles, surveys, videos, guides, tools, etc.) to foster interaction with other websites, including social media and press platforms

Our take

Papernest helps customers manage their utility bills and subscriptions via its online platform. It predominantly focuses on streamlining the administration involved in moving house, like changing or cancelling water bills and gym registrations, with an additional service that works like a more conventional price comparison site for utilities like internet and gas. It is providing a much-needed service in what's proven to be an interestingly narrow and non-competitive niche.

The company so far has been partnering with real estate agency referrals to bring new customers on board. So the boom in people changing homes over the last few years is likely to have played strongly in Papernest’s favour. It has leveraged a strategic partnership with open banking firm Tink, using the company’s broader European coverage to springboard into more geographies.

Papernest seems something of a rare find: a solution that neatly resolves a large and material problem, that’s proven hugely popular, and yet that hasn’t inspired a flurry of would-be competitors. With the housing market still relatively hot, and mid-term moves inspired by the growing digital-nomad lifestyle still on the rise, Papernest seem to be in a rosy position. If it gets too rosy though, it may have to watch its back.
