Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of direct CRM or Lifecycle Marketing experience, preferably supporting a consumer mobile application
- Deep functional knowledge of enterprise marketing engagement platforms such as Iterable, Braze, Hubspot, and Customer.io
- Proficiency in developing complex Lifecycle Marketing automation
- Experience owning, maintaining, and executing marketing campaign calendars
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decisions
- Desire to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships across our organization
What the job involves
- You'll drive the evolution of our email, push, and in-app messaging channels, transforming our business into a multi-vertical platform. You’ll report to the Senior Director, CRM and Lifecycle Marketing, and you'll play a crucial role in activating, engaging, and retaining our growing user base
- Channel Expertise: Own and optimize email, push, and in-app messaging to activate, engage, and retain users, ensuring best practices and deliverability in alignment with industry trends
- Campaign Calendar Ownership: Develop and maintain a comprehensive CRM campaign calendar, aligning with strategic goals, product launches, and marketing objectives
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product, Data, Creative, Acquisition, and Merchant teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives, integrating CRM strategies into key product launches and marketing initiatives
- Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze CRM data to identify trends, run A/B tests, and apply insights to improve engagement, retention, and conversion rates across all CRM channels
- CRM Automation: Leverage AI, establish efficient CRM processes, and manage timelines to keep CRM initiatives organized and on track
- Tools We Use: Iterable, Email on Acid, Jira, Snowflake, Segment, and Neustar/TransUnion Data Clean Rooms
Our take
Loyalty systems, vouchers, and other special offers have a proven track record at winning over new customers for businesses. However customers can be reluctant to sign up due to the sheer number of these schemes. Upside exists to unify these loyalty schemes with a single flexible reward app.
While retail reward platforms are nothing new, Upside functions more like a marketplace, linking participating businesses to potential customers. It also rewards customers with cash back on eligible purchases, a more flexible reward than is traditional in loyalty schemes. With over 50,000 businesses enrolled and 30 million app users, Upside has grown into a major player in this sector.
Having secured investments in a 2022 round of equity funding, Upside expanded into mobile payments, growing its value to over $1.5 billion. Upside is moving to scale its operations by hiring additional talent and forming new partnerships with brands and businesses. As growing inflation impacts the cost of living, Upside's product will likely be increasingly appreciated by consumers and businesses who depend on their custom.
