Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of professional experience within enterprise analytics roles
- 3+ years in exploration and application of AI / ML solutions within a enterprise organization
- Experience utilizing AI and ML to develop business related strategies involving: NLP, LLM, Statistical Modeling, Classification Models, Predictive/Prescriptive analytics
- Experience within the enterprise SaaS industry highly preferred
- Programming skills in Python and experience with LLM / machine learning preferred
- Ability to lead in ambiguous situations with creative problem solving
- Proven ability to drive consensus across business lines on prioritization
- Strong analytical ability; problem deconstruction, statistical thinking, meticulous analysis, data validation, and scientific rigor
- Demonstrated stakeholder management, including clear and concise communication, effective prioritization, presentation, and delivery of actionable insights
- Excellent collaboration, executive presence, and storytelling skills
What the job involves
- As the Sr. AI Strategist, you will work with the business to identify critical areas in which data and analytics can make a material difference in the execution of Workday’s strategic goals
- Each of these goals is being organized as a data product with a dedicated cross-functional team to drive a diverse set of data management, governance, and data analytics to realize relevant, measurable business change
- The AI Strategist will work with one of these larger data product teams to understand how new tools and technologies in AI can help to support the delivery of business impact
- This role will specifically focus on enhancing the insights to improve the health of the overall Workday business, aligning the information and analytical needs across organizations such as Sales, Marketing, Revenue Ops, Customer Experience, Corporate Strategy, and Business Operations
- Collaborate closely with the Workday Health of the Business Data Product Owner to identify and advise on suitable AI/ML solutions to enhance applications that utilize core data products
- Identify and evaluate new AI tools and technologies to support the delivery of AI/ML solutions for the business
- Work with business leaders to identify critical areas where AI solutions can drive significant business impact
- Partner with the data product team including data governance, data management, analytics engineering, and QA to develop and validate products
- Communicate AI strategy, progress and results to functional leaders and stakeholders

It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.
Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.
The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
