Who you are

Deep knowledge of Python
Deep understanding of best practices to design APIs, services, and event-driven architectures
Experience writing complex performant SQL queries
Experience deploying and running Python components in AWS
Experience building automated deployment pipelines in AWS
Experience mentoring and coaching software engineers to expand their skillset to include Python

Desirable

Experience working with Ruby / Rails applications (which are the primary consumers of APIs you’ll build)
Experience building dev tooling
Experience working with ETL tools and/or data warehousing
Experience in implementing Information Retrieval systems (search engines, recommender systems…), measuring their performances, and you understand how their behaviors are tied to business goals

What the job involves

Drive the design and implementation of our matching and ranking-related components, as you’ll facilitate the collaboration between product managers, data-scientists, and other backend engineers
Assess and drive the resolution of technical debt within our matching service and APIs, partnering with a PM and EM, and aligning to Indeed standards
Improve the developer experience for those working on matching and ranking, enabling more engineers to work on this problem space effectively
Work with engineering leadership and other Senior / Staff Engineers to evaluate technologies, infrastructure and architecture, driving improvements in all three
Design and implementation of components to automate the different operations on our Marketplace
Mentor and coach other engineers, particularly in developing their Python skillset
