Who you are

If you are excited by the idea of being an early engineer at a startup that is poised to lead the next wave of application security products, we would love to hear from you
3+ years experience of hands-on microservices based backend development in a fast paced engineering org
Advanced to expert level experience with Kubernetes and at least one well known cloud platform, and good understanding of networking layers L3-L7+ required
Experience building integrations with various cloud provider APIs
Knowledge of Operating Systems /Network Security fundamentals is preferred
Experience with Golang/ C++, REST/ GRPC/ Graphql, Webassembly is preferred
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as part of a remote team
BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or similar equivalent industry experience is preferred

What the job involves

We are seeking someone to build out and scale Operant’s application protection capabilities in the backend that help secure modern cloud native applications
Build and scale the backend command and control capabilities that actively secure cloud native apps, integrated with a variety of cloud provider services
Develop scalable and resilient code that meets rapidly increasing scale requirements of our customer deployments and end users
Embed security best practices within code development
Think through well-reasoned architectural choices to meet stability and performance, while being agile
Document and communicate design decisions with the broader team to support a remote, asynchronous work culture
Function independently while being able to make technical choices in the presence of unknowns
Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering leaders
Work closely with customers through MVP onboarding
Take active interest in understanding customer problems while building features in an iterative manner
