Who you are
- At least 2 years of experience in full-time product management of customer-facing products, working in collaboration with technical teams
- Highly structured and analytical, with proven expertise in experimentation to turn data into actionable insights. Data is your trusted guide and validator
- Previous experience in an agile, high-growth environment, preferably e-commerce
- Curiosity and experience to understand customers’ needs with the ability to turn them into impactful improvements to our product
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to break down complex issues into understandable and actionable steps
- Strong growth mindset and the motivation to continuously deliver value with a lean mindset
- Fluency in English
What the job involves
- As (Senior) Product Manager for our Shopping Product team within Growth, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product process from setting the vision to understanding our customers' biggest challenges to delivering your new ideas to our customers
- You ensure we have a seamless best-in-class customer experience and that relevant customer needs are solved in elegant, scalable, and measurable ways
- In short: You enable us to grow to more than 50,000 cars on the road!
- Own the product vision and roadmap for our shopping product: Shape the core shopping journey for our B2C customers by promoting FINN and our wide selection of vehicles
- With your expertise, you enable website visitors top of the funnel to find their perfect car and convert them into FINN customers
- Investigate and leverage the customers’ perspective: Build in-depth knowledge of our customers, through both qualitative and quantitative sources
- Understand where our customer experience is falling short and translate your insight into tangible priorities to test and validate
- Share your knowledge and enable your peers: You collaborate closely with your multi-disciplinary team of design, engineering, and data in the Growth Department to build and iterate on your product together
- You close the feedback loop, use various experimentation techniques, and nurture alignment to create a shared vision
- Critically question and analyze: With your profound project management skills, your team is responsible for building and enabling technology that solves user issues and achieves team goals
- Working jointly with our Engineering Manager, you prioritize and define requirements to bring our systems to the next level, while always seizing opportunities for automation
Our take
Digitally led car subscription services have huge potential to disrupt the traditional car sales model. They work on a simple premise: many consumers want to have their own car, but don't want to commit to the costs associated with car ownership. FINN's early success is good evidence of this consumer demand, within its first year of operation, the company sold 1000 car subscriptions and closed a Series A funding round. In 2024, it's grown its total funding to $244 million.
Despite early successes, FINN faces stiff competition. A number of car manufacturers have launched similar subscription services powered by various providers, such as Drover, LeasePlan and Wagonex, whilst others already offer such services directly to consumers. Examples include "Audi On Demand" and "Care" by Volvo. Establishing itself in a market which is becoming more crowded will thus be a key challenge for FINN.
Two key features help FINN set itself apart from competitors. Firstly, FINN's model appeals to environmentally-minded consumers, with the company offsetting the CO2 emissions of its vehicles. Secondly, FINN's automation of fleet management and customer interactions make its business much cheaper and easier to run, allowing the company to focus on growth.
Having trialled its service in Germany and attracting a large tranche of additional funding, it has expanded to the northeastern United States with the aim of moving into other states soon. It is currently targeting the small and medium business sector there and is working towards adding additional EVs to its fleet, a requirement for remaining competitive in this sector as environmental regulations mount.
