Role
Who you are
- Living in the Netherlands
- You bring 2-5 years of relevant work experience as a data engineer
- And have 2-5 years of experience with python and pandas
- You have experience creating and designing scalable data pipelines (>2 years)
- You have experience with (Py)Spark (> 1.5 years)
- You have experience with cluster setup (distributed spark clusters setup)
- You have experience in DataBricks and/or Delta Lake
- You are critical, solution-oriented and have good project management skills
- You are a team player who can communicate well and motivate yourself
- You are fluent in English
What the job involves
- We are a high-potential start-up and are just at the beginning. You will have an impact within a company that can grow very quickly
- As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that is required for the storing and processing of our data
- Helping to design our data pipelines to scale (currently processing over 10M sessions a day)
- Working on tickets related to improving and adding data pipelines
- Improving our distributed cluster setup inside Databricks
- Improving & writing PySpark code to improve our current codebase,
- Creating framework for data validation and quality checks
- Creating unit tests and data quality checks for data pipelines
- Solve bugs
- Helping on designing and scaling database that is heavily used in the application
- You are part of the tech team that now consists of five full stack developers, four data scientists and two data engineers
- In this role we are especially searching for someone who has (more) experience with PySpark and how to set up distributed clusters in Databricks
