What the job involves
- Reporting to: Kelvin Moore - Agile Delivery Director
- Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen
- Elevate Functional Agile Maturity: Drive the adoption and refinement of agile practices within their specific functional area, demonstrably improving team effectiveness and delivery
- Empower Agile Leadership: Equip leaders within their remit with a deep understanding and championing of agile principles and practices
- Cultivate High-Performing Teams: Mentor and develop agile teams to foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and the effective implementation of agile frameworks
- To establish their functional area as a beacon of agile excellence, characterised by empowered teams, engaged leadership, and a relentless pursuit of value delivery
- Noticeably improved agile maturity and performance metrics within their functional area
- Leaders who actively support and enable agile teams, fostering a more adaptive and responsive environment
- Teams that are more collaborative, self-organising, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes
- A Senior Agile Coach drives agile initiatives within multiple teams or a functional area, influencing leaders and mentoring teams to adopt agile mindsets
- This role focuses on coaching leaders, delivering training, and advocating for agile best practices, contributing to agile maturity within specific areas of OVO
- Your key outcomes will be:
- Improved Agile Maturity within a Functional Area: Drive the adoption and refinement of agile practices within a defined area, leading to increased team effectiveness and product delivery
- Enhanced Leadership Understanding of Agile: Influence and guide leaders within the functional area to understand and champion agile principles and practices
- High-Performing Agile Teams through Mentorship: Develop and mentor agile teams fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and effective agile implementation
- Effective Agile Training and Knowledge Sharing: Design and deliver agile training programs and workshops, enhancing the agile knowledge and skills of teams and leaders
- Data-Driven Agile Optimisation: Promote a data-driven approach to agile improvement, encouraging teams to use metrics and feedback to optimise their processes
- Coach Leaders and Teams: Provide expert coaching on Agile principles, frameworks, and tools to leaders and teams, supporting their growth and Agile maturity
- Lead Agile Adoption: Drive Agile implementation within a functional area, tailoring practices to context while aligning with OVO’s broader strategy
- Design and Deliver Training: Create and facilitate engaging Agile training sessions and workshops to uplift skills and foster shared understanding
- Promote Agile Culture: Champion Agile values and practices, influencing stakeholders to embed agility across ways of working
- Assess and Improve Agile Maturity: Conduct Agile health checks and provide actionable recommendations to enhance team effectiveness and outcomes
- Mentor Across Frameworks: Guide teams in the practical application of Agile frameworks, adapting approaches to meet team and organisational needs
- Contribute to the Agile Community of Practice: Actively support OVO’s Agile Community of Practice by sharing knowledge, creating content, and contributing to cross-team learning and continuous improvement
Our take
On average, home energy represents 26% of our carbon footprint. Ovo Energy wants to bring this to zero by providing cheaper, greener and simpler energy to customers. It's analysing meter data to deliver easy, personalised actions, turning electric vehicles into power stations with clever chargers, and building energy-efficient heaters. For households, it's offering is organised into four different energy plans, that include interest rewards on energy credit balance.
In 2020, OVO completed the acquisition of SSE Energy Services' retail arm for £500 million, meaning that the challenger brand now has around 4 million customers in the UK.
While helping Ovo members halve their carbon footprints, the company is also working towards becoming a net zero carbon business by 2035. The challenges ahead for the company include encouraging consumer behaviour change, shifting towards subscription models for home energy use.
