Role
Who you are
- 1-3 years of software engineering experience, ideally in Go or Java
- BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field or experience
- Demonstrated ability to assess, troubleshoot, and debug complex integration issues efficiently
- Proven track record of building and working with sophisticated backend systems, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Experience in financial technology, with expertise in crypto and/or traditional finance, is a strong advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with clients and team members
What the job involves
- As a Software Engineer in our Trading Connectivity team, you will be designing, developing, and maintaining high performance backend systems that integrate with our expansive provider network
- Your tasks will involve collaboration with product managers, trading support, other engineering teams, and our clients to integrate and support new liquidity providers joining the Talos network
- You will play an important role in improving the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the platform, and owning the end to end integration process from gathering requirements to deployment
- Design, implement, test, and deploy high-performance backend systems and services, with a focus on trading connectivity
- Integrate new liquidity providers into the expansive Talos network to enhance the efficiency and value of the Talos platform
- Act as a point of contact and own the integration process from the requirements gathering stage, all the way to interfacing with the technical teams of the external providers, building, testing and successfully deploying the work to production
- Continuously improve the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the Talos platform
- Collaborate with the product team, other engineering teams, support, and our clients to develop solutions that support the full trade lifecycle, from inception to execution
- Be part of an open and transparent culture as we grow the team

So far, the increasing institutional interest in the value of crypto-assets has been stymied by a lack of scaled, efficient, and secure infrastructure that these institutions could use for trade. Talos addresses the problem of digital asset trading between institutions, helping them to securely sidestep these obstacles into a fresh market with potentially huge returns.
The company provides a range of end-to-end, highly configurable tools to populate and facilitate the institutional crypto-asset market from just one platform. Talos' approach is helping to lower the bar for wide-ranging adoption of cryptocurrency, supporting the full lifespan of digital assets trading. That said, because the company is developing an entirely new asset class market, progress is accelerated, and competition may have a chance to overtake.
Promising for Talos was the interest of prominent investors, including PayPal and Fidelity, during their Series A and B funding rounds. The funds were used to create an institutional-grade service that would help shape and spearhead this developing market. More recently, the company has formed several significant partnerships, including with BlackRock, and acquired D3X Systems, the integration of which will enable its clients to design, validate, implement, and manage highly customised portfolios.
