Role
Who you are
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent professional experience
- Strong knowledge of advanced HR best practices, compliance, procedures, and up-to-date familiarity with UK Employment Law
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with line managers and the Senior Leadership Team
- Extensive experience in handling employee relations and supporting/advising Line Managers and the Senior Leadership Team
- Advanced familiarity with performance management and employee development processes
- Proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing advanced HR policies and procedures
- Skillful in analysing gaps in existing policies and suggesting strategic improvements
- Proven ability to gather advanced data to inform policy development, including surveys and feedback sessions
- Expertise in advanced recruitment processes, including job description review, interviewing, and offer negotiations
- Ability to advise and train Line Managers on advanced best practices in recruitment
- Extensive experience in coordinating and managing advanced recruitment administration
Desirable
- CIPD Level 7
- Proven experience in fostering a positive company culture through advanced initiatives such as off-sites and social events
- Ability to coordinate and advise on advanced best practices related to team culture, values, and behaviours
- Knowledge of employee engagement strategies and practices in a scaling climate tech organisation
- Experience in developing and delivering advanced training for Line Managers and organisation-wide
- Familiarity with advanced performance and well-being issues, with the ability to provide strategic advice on addressing them
- Proven experience in line managing junior HR professionals, including acting as an apprenticeship mentor
- Experience in developing and implementing advanced internship programs
What the job involves
- Advise the Head of Operations on advanced HR best practices, including annual salary and promotion reviews, benchmarking international salaries, and performance and capability management processes
- Oversee and monitor parental leave arrangements, handling communications with the team
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Coordinate and facilitate advanced training and coaching for managers, either internally or through external partners
- Advise and train Line Managers on delivering advanced recruitment processes and contractual requirements for each role
- Attend final interviews for all roles, ensuring comprehensive consideration of people and culture aspects
- Manage our external recruitment contractor, overseeing all administration related to hiring and project-manage as required
- Continuously improve our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for efficiency and effectiveness
- Manage the offer stage of the recruitment process, advising Line Managers on best practices and liaising directly with candidates to oversee the negotiation and agreement of employment terms
- Develop, write, and implement advanced core policies and procedures
- Analyse areas requiring new or updated policies, informed by relevant stakeholders
- Monitor gaps in policies and procedures, advising the Head of Operations on strategic solutions
- Develop and utilise advanced data-gathering processes to inform policies, including focus groups, surveys, and feedback sessions from line managers
- Lead the People and Operations Assistant in delivering initiatives for developing an enriched company culture, including off-sites and social events
- Coordinate and advise on advanced best practices related to team culture, values, and behaviours
- Proactively flag performance or well-being issues to senior management, providing strategic advice on how they might be addressed
- Manage employee benefits on an ad hoc basis
