Who you are

Moderate knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and development practices
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging
Ability to contribute to technical discussions and make informed decisions with guidance
Experience in observability tooling
Proven ability to own feature delivery end-to-end
Strong front-end development expertise is essential, with proven ability to translate design and user needs into elegant, high-performing interfaces
Languages: full stack experience with familiarity with one of Java and Go a benefit
Infrastructure: familiarity with AWS EKS architecture and dev-ops experience
~2–4 years of professional software development experience

What the job involves

As a Software Developer I at Opus 2, you’ll contribute to small features and enhancements while building confidence in your engineering judgment
You’ll work closely with your Tech Lead, Product Manager, and Designer to deliver user-focused solutions
This role emphasizes growing autonomy, taking ownership of your work, and developing habits that support team quality, reliability, and speed
Deliver small features and enhancements with guidance from senior engineers and your Tech Lead
Write tested, maintainable code that adheres to team and company standards
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and bug triage within your squad
Participate in system design discussions, learning how technical trade-offs are considered
Support teammates by sharing knowledge and reviewing code at your level
Apply AI tools effectively to improve speed and quality in development (e.g. test automation, debugging, documentation)
Raise questions and flag risks around AI use, ensuring solutions are safe and compliant with team practices

Our take

Documentation, clients and teams are all multifarious in legal proceedings, and therefore provide unique logistical problems. Opus 2 aims to meet the needs of the modern courtroom by providing digital solutions in an age of remote hearings.

The company provides e-bundles that seek to solve these problems. Whilst courtrooms may use existing video software to conduct hearings, Opus 2 integrates this software with other elements (such as data storage and documentation) in order to streamline the process and ultimately save time for everyone. The company offers virtual workspaces on a secure cloud platform, streamlining legal work for both lawyers and clients.
