Role
Who you are
- Strong commercial experience – able to demonstrate where you have made different commercial models suit the client / business needs
- Experience of managing presence in and selling via procurement frameworks
- Experience of managing large accounts and fulfilling reporting requirements
- The ability to bring together a solution and coordinate moving parts to get Sales, Operations, Development, Marketing and Finance all working together
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience of leveraging existing relationships to create new revenue streams
- Experience managing a team - whether that be direct line management or overseeing a project / tendering team
- A track record of strategic sales into the public sector, ideally at National level
- Some knowledge and understanding of the EV charging Industry
What the job involves
- Networking with, and presenting to senior stakeholders (both clients and internal)
- Upskilling and educating the wider sales team on Public Sector market channels
- Ensuring you are up-to-date with internal and external developments, and suggesting new ways to increase sales
- Having a thorough understanding of the technical elements within our product range
- Leading on any new commercial projects
- Building long standing relationships (from scratch) with a diverse range of customers, always going the extra mile to exceed expectations
- Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Construction & Public Sector Sales on forecasting, growth and necessary channel performance

- Brief phone interview with a member of our Talent Acquisition Team (up to 30 minutes) to find out more about what you’re looking for and your experience in relation to the role

- We will call you on the number provided in your application at an arranged time
- Stage 2:
- Culture Interview (45 mins):
- This will be an open informal chat lasting up to 45 minutes with the recruiter and someone else from the company. This interview is not specific to your role and you don’t need to prepare anything - we want to get to know the real you!

- Stage 3:
- Technical Interview (60-90 mins):
- The Technical Interview typically lasting 60-90 minutes. It's based around your experience and knowledge relating to the role you applied for
- Depending on the role you may be provided with a short presentation brief or task to present to the panel. If so we’ll make sure to give you plenty of time to prepare
- This is also a good chance to get to know some of the people you’ll likely be working with and get more in-depth answers to any questions about the role you may have
Our take
Electric vehicle adoption has risen dramatically in recent years, but EV infrastructure can still be limiting for drivers. Pod Point solves this problem by making and installing electric charging points in homes and public spaces.
Since its launch, Pod Point has grown to become the UK’s largest provider of electric vehicle chargers, with a number of lucrative partnerships with supermarket chains such as Sainsbury’s, Lidl, and Tesco. Energy giant EDF bought a major stake in the company in 2020, a testament to Pod Point’s viability. Now, the company boasts over 240,000 EV charging points.
The company faces competition from the likes of Chargemaster, but its partnerships, and the backing of EDF, will allow Pod Point to remain a leading player in the EV market.
