Company mission

We’re on a mission. And it’s money without borders. Instant, convenient, transparent and — eventually — free.

Role

Who you are

  • You’re an accomplished and experienced Principal Content Designer with extensive experience shipping world-class consumer products
  • You have experience with conversation design, and an interest in using AI tools to accelerate content development
  • You’re comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity — and can successfully collaborate in this environment
  • You have an eye for quality, and know what to focus on to drive it up
  • You’re influential, inspiring, and able to work with others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment
  • You’re highly empathetic, both to customers and the people you work with
  • You’re a trusted partner, building effective relationships with your peers across the business
  • Heads up, this probably isn’t for you if your experience is mostly in marketing content, advertising, copywriting, journalism or social media – and you have no hands-on experience of content design or working in UX.

What the job involves

  • You’ll be establishing exceptional content foundations to use with AI tools, and levelling up the quality of our existing content across Support — a squad that helps millions of people troubleshoot our products and understand how to get the most out of what we offer
  • You’ll get to know our customers, building empathy and a deep understanding of their needs
  • You’ll use your expertise to discover, design and deliver simple, beautifully crafted, intuitive experiences that make stressful situations easier
  • You’ll be influential in your squad, understanding and prioritising content needs and delivering on the most impactful projects across multiple teams
  • Working with data scientists and developers, you’ll continuously improve our content model to work in new scenarios and with new tools
  • Working with designers from other squads you’ll help maintain a single, seamless experience for customers
  • Using your content skill s you’ll level up content design quality and maturity across the squad, one iteration at a time
  • You'll also be part of the Content Guild, and will regularly collaborate with the content community across Wise
  • Repping Support, you’ll be part of a powerful feedback loop between customers and Product that helps improve the consistency of our messaging
  • Be a guiding light and advocate for the customer experience, as the squad increases its AI capabilities
  • Own the squad’s automation content experience end to end, and steer its strategy and direction
  • Elevate product and content quality — you define what good looks like in the squad, and demonstrate it with everything you ship
  • Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money

Our take

Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.

Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. They've attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.

The challenge for Wise will be maintaining their edge and brand power in a market that's becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants (like Revolut and Monzo) and incumbents (traditional banks) trying to catch up. To do so, the company is ramping up its digital and marketing strategies, as well as pushing for further development of its existing products.
