Role
Who you are
- 5+ years as an infrastructure, site reliability or platform engineer
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, GitOps),
- Experience with observability tooling (e.g. Honeycomb, Datadog, ELK) and a compiled language (e.g. Go)
- Experience scaling cloud infrastructure including relational databases (MySQL preferred) and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Experience designing and building highly reliable systems at scale
- Stytch participates in e-verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States
What the job involves
- Stytch is the platform for user authentication. We build infrastructure that sits in the critical path of our customer's applications. As an Experienced Infrastructure Engineer, you'll work on designing and building back end systems and infrastructure to be secure and highly reliable for our customers globally

- Go for backend services
- Node and Typescript for our web services
- Next.js and React/Typescript on the frontend
- Swift for our iOS sdk and Kotlin for the Android sdk
- We run our services on AWS with Kubernetes for orchestration
- We use Terraform and GitOps to manage our infrastructure
- GRPC and protobufs for internal service communication

Our take
Passwords don’t typically offer the levels of security they once did, and we need more of them than ever - leading to poor security practices and a huge volume of subsequent data breaches. Some startups have emerged to help manage them; Stytch, however, is part of a growing cohort looking to cut them out entirely.
The idea is to make navigating digital space frictionless. To this end, Stytch has developed an out-of-the-box, easy-to-deploy version of about a dozen passwordless authentication solutions. It has seen a sharper increase in users and funding than rival startups like Magic, which it puts down to an API-first product, which is less limiting in its application than the widgets we’ve seen developed by earlier entrants to the space.
That alone, however, won’t be enough to push it ahead of other highly successful innovators in the space. Transmit Security has received record-breaking backing for its biometrics-led approach. This goes to show how far the market is betting on a passwordless future, and whilst Stytch’s line of attack is successful, it will nevertheless need to remain sharp in its development of new solutions.
