Senior Staff Accountant, Mixlab

• 3-6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
• Proven ability to lead month-end close processes and independently reconcile complex accounts with accuracy
• Expert in Excel/Google Sheets and QuickBooks
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Excited to build, document, and improve systems with automation
• Clear communicator who is not afraid to ask questions
• Stays on task while under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
• Experience working with audit teams

Desirable

• As Senior Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in building scalable financial operations and ensuring our accounting processes are audit-ready and rock solid
• You will report directly to the VP of Finance and work closely with two other team members and our external accounting firm
• Own key aspects of the period close process, including journal entries, general ledger mapping, cost accounting, accruals, and reconciliations
• Maintain supporting schedules for various accounts (e.g., prepaids, fixed assets)
• Drive process improvements and automation within our accounting workflows
• Support audit-readiness by ensuring financials and documentation are complete, consistent, and accurate
• Prepare internal and external financial reports and variance analysis
• Assist in sales tax filings and other compliance requirements
• Provide recurring and ad-hoc analyses to Sales, Operations and Customer Care departments to support informed decision-making
