What the job involves
- Multiply the impact of multiple teams (a mix of ICs and Experts) - creating an environment where great people can do their best work, move quickly, and stay laser-focused on what matters most
- Spend ~40% of your time hands-on, playing to your strengths and supporting what’s most valuable. That might like look optimising your team's workflow, defining incident response plans, implementing DORA metrics, leading tech-focused projects, or even hacking together a PoC for a better API caching layer
- Lead all People decisions across the employee journey - from hiring and onboarding, to engagement, performance, and growth. You’ll optimise resources and structure, while building a team that trusts each other to own and deliver
- Support Experts on technical decisions - not by making the calls yourself, but by being a thoughtful sounding board
- You’ll work closely with those Tech Leads to clarify resource needs and identify dependencies. You’ll contribute to conversations around tooling, quality standards, and architecture, without owning the outcomes
- Keep tem. connected. As a remote-first company, communication is key. You’ll represent your team, share context, and build strong connections across Engineering, Product, and beyond

Our take
tem is a next-gen energy transactions company that changes the way renewable energy is bought, sold and powered. Rebalancing the playing field away from "Big Energy", tem creates affordable, traceable and smart energy transaction management tools.
The company provides businesses and consumers with access to the same financial benefits as Big Energy companies by distributing its own purchased energy to customers. Once they’re signed up, customers are matched with a suitable generator, and the tem platform helps execute contracts, take payments, and manage invoicing.
This is a truly disruptive concept, and is proving to be a successful one. tem currently processes over £50 million in direct transactions and saves millions for over 1000 UK businesses wanting to switch from traditional utilities tied to the wholesale market. Whilst UK consumers are notoriously hesitant to switch providers, recent soaring energy prices is luring many into giving it a go.
