Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for an experienced individual who is passionate about guiding clients, building tailored technical solutions, and helping our customers achieve their goals
  • 8+ years of technical sales experience, including at least 5 years as a Senior Sales Engineer or Solution Consultant in enterprise SaaS software
  • Hands-on experience in Customer Data Platforms (CDP), capable of leveraging this expertise to drive strategic solutions and enhance customer engagement
  • Strong front-end development background with JavaScript expertise and experience across multiple web frameworks
  • Proven experience in the content management industry or related fields such as e-commerce or marketing tech
  • Deep knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and modern web technologies.
  • Comfortable presenting to audiences ranging from technical developers to C-level executives
  • Ability to create technical demonstrations and articulate value propositions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of popular tools like NodeJS, ReactJS, VueJS, or AngularJS
  • Strong relationships with industry partners and vendors in the digital content and commerce ecosystem
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, partner sites, and industry events as needed for demonstrations and workshops

What the job involves

  • Contentstack is looking for a Sr. Sales Engineer to join our expanding North American team!
  • This role is perfect for someone who loves working with customers to solve complex challenges but doesn't want to be coding eight hours a day
  • As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving our customers' success throughout the sales cycle and beyond
  • Lead the technical discovery and demonstrate the value of Contentstack to prospects via tailored demo sessions (virtually and in person as needed)
  • Develop and deliver technical proof of concepts (POCs) that meet customer requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, guiding them by addressing technical questions and challenges
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to customize presentations and solution offerings to meet client needs
  • Partner closely with account executives during the pre-sales process to support deal progression and conversion
  • Provide valuable feedback to our product team on features, functionality, and product improvements based on customer interactions
  • Stay up to date with industry trends in composable architecture, microservices, and headless technology
  • Work closely with our internal partnerships team and external partners to deliver seamless technical experiences during deals

Our take

As enterprises handle and produce increasing volumes of content, the Content Management System (CMS) market is still growing strongly – expected to more than double in size by 2030. To differentiate themselves in a crowded market, disruptors entering the space are championing the idea of “Headless CMS”, through which enterprises can customize the front-end visuals while offering the same level of backend infrastructure.

Co-founded by the same trio that created and sold Built.io, Contentstack is one such disruptor that’s making a strong name for itself. Founded in 2019, the platform is now used by a number of major enterprises including Shell, JPMorgan Chase, McDonald’s, and Walmart.

It’s been a very strong start to life, with huge VC funding as well as a high-profile customer base, but there is still plenty of competition – Storyblok, Prismic, Strapi, and Kontent are all well funded and growing quickly too. That being said, Contenstack is hoping that its no-code automation features will help it stand out from the rest as the company looks to grow internationally.
