ML Validation Data Scientist, Zoox

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in a data science or related field
• Experience with production Machine Learning pipelines, including dataset creation, training frameworks, model validation, and monitoring
• Proficient with data query languages (SQL or Spark/scala) and Python, data science and machine learning frameworks
• Proficient in exploratory data analysis (EDA) and data visualization

• You will be part of a team building state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for the Zoox autonomous driving Perception stack
• As a member of the Perception team, you will be part of the “eyes and ears” of the Zoox autonomous driving stack, deploying state-of-the-art AI solutions to ensure safe and effective driving
• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our Perception Verification & Validation team
• In this role, you will develop data analyses and models to evaluate and improve the quality and efficiency of Zoox's autonomous driving Perception system
• Working closely with perception engineers, metrics engineers and machine learning engineers, you will define key performance metrics, build validation pipelines, and ensure our AI-driven Perception stack operates safely and effectively in real world conditions
• Use multi-modal data from across the company to develop models and strategies that improve the speed and quality of our perception validation process
• Analyze large-scale data from perception metric results to introspect the perception stacking, understanding trends and key failure modes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with perception engineers, metrics engineers, and machine learning engineers, including presenting results and insights to leadership
• Work with infrastructure teams to deploy models that operate on TBs of data, including monitor performance over time
• Support development of new metrics and statistical validation approaches
