What the job involves

  • Smartly is seeking a Director of Platform Partnerships to join our growing Global Partnerships Team
  • The Global Partnerships Team is responsible for strengthening strategic relationships with platform and integrated partners to accelerate new business, retain and grow existing customers, enhance product-market fit, and coordinate cross-functional efforts across the organization
  • This role reports to the VP of Platform Partnerships and will lead a team that collaborates closely with GTM, product, marketing, and other key functions to advance Smartly’s position globally
  • The Director of Platform Partnerships will lead strategy and business development initiatives to drive Smartly's growth and deepen relationships within the Meta ecosystem
  • This high-impact role is focused on defining and executing strategies to expand revenue, deliver product integrations, and position Smartly as a preferred partner across Meta's key teams
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to accelerate Smartly’s presence and impact within the Meta ecosystem, aligning with company goals and market opportunities
  • Own revenue targets for media activation and foster senior-level relationships across business development, partnerships, client success, and product teams
  • Partner with Meta to shape and deliver joint business plans, execute product integration strategies, and measure performance to ensure scalable adoption of Smartly solutions
  • Serve as the key strategic liaison for partner product direction, ensuring Smartly’s platform is aligned with the evolving Marketing API by identifying opportunities, influencing API development, and activating the right innovations to keep Smartly competitive and forward-looking
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align Smartly’s growth strategies with product development, GTM execution, and marketing initiatives
  • Serve as Smartly’s primary liaison for Meta partnerships, advocating for shared goals and ensuring seamless coordination of efforts
  • Provide strategic thought leadership, make independent decisions, and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives internally and externally
  • Continuously identify opportunities to innovate and optimize partnerships, ensuring Smartly remains ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team by fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability while driving strategic priorities and delivering impactful results

Our take

Smartly.io helps advertisers automate their campaigns across the largest media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. After seeing quick success following Facebook’s 2012 IPO, the company now works with over 700 brands including eBay, Uber, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour, and TechStyle.

Its suite of tools automatically creates ads and videos from product images, handling budget allocation, audience targeting, and where and when to purchase advertising. Consequently, Smartly.io has positioned itself to play a leading role in a market where brand and performance work are converging.

Smartly.io sold a majority stake to Providence Equity Partners in 2019 in a move to further its presence in the US. The company has since gone on to make several acquisitions of its own with Viralspace.ai and Ad-Lib.io. Smartly.io's ability to adapt to evolving social media advertising trends has it well set to see continued growth.
