Role

Who you are

  • Past experience in managing a team of engineers in a SaaS environment
  • Solid technical proficiency in data engineering, data architectures, and analytics, with a specialization in building high-performance OLTP and OLAP environments. Familiarity with relational databases, document databases, Google Big Query, Python, and Databricks or equivalent technologies is preferred
  • Previous experience in creating real-time data analytical solutions for large multi-user SaaS environments
  • Knowledge of cloud based technologies, particularly Azure and large data processing frameworks such as Spark
  • Experience working with large distributed systems and high throughput
  • Experience with performance tuning and designing scalable data pipelines
  • Knowledge of real-time data processing and event driven systems. Use of Kafka, Event Hubs or similar
  • Experience working with data scientists, MLOps and building ML enabled features

What the job involves

  • We are looking for an experienced Head of Data to lead the data strategy for our rapidly growing SaaS platform. The successful candidate will collaborate with our software engineering and data science teams to develop scalable customer facing solutions in a high-throughput and large data volume system
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a high-performance OLTP environment and spearheading enhancements in real-time data analysis
  • Develop and execute data strategies and initiatives that support company objectives and drive revenue growth
  • Establish a scalable data platform catering to the requirements of our Data Science and Product teams
  • Manage a team, ensuring delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Mentor team members, empowering them to handle day-to-day operations, projects, and incidents independently
  • Demonstrate expertise in chosen tools, understanding their strengths and aligning workloads to promote growth and scale
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Service Ops teams to maintain the data infrastructure and optimize costs
  • Oversee HA/DR for all data stores
