Role
Who you are
- Strong legal expertise with a focus on contract law, intellectual property, data privacy, and corporate governance. Knowledge of Dutch law is a must
- Extensive experience overseeing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, and execution
- Experience ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements
- Outstanding communication skills in Dutch and English
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, especially in the context of developing software based Data on AI
- Experience advising on data management in AI applications and fundraising is a prerequisite
What the job involves
- The Senior Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in shaping Source’s legal, governance and compliance activities
- As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will have end responsibility for all legal activities, including but not limited to legal agreements (e.g. commercial, employment, investments), corporate governance and compliance regulations
- You will be entrusted with managing the legal budget and managing external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and external legal firms. You’re the trusted and legal advisor to the Commercial , Operations People and Finance teams and the Management Team. You will report to the CFO
- Legal strategy: Advise, develop and execute on a legal strategy aligned with Source’s goals, ensuring compliance with upcoming and relevant laws and industry standards, such as AI and Data privacy legislation.
- Contract management: Oversee contract management lifecycle, including drafting and negotiation for customer agreements, partnerships, and vendor contracts
- Employment law: Serve as the legal partner for Source’s People Team, proactively addressing employee-related legal matters
- Intellectual property Protect the Company’s intellectual property portfolio, collaborating with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams on the best IP strategy. Handle trademark, copyright, and patent matters
- GDPR: Ensure compliance with data privacy rules, including GDPR. Advise Data Science team on managing the Company’s data in AI applications
- Audit: Identify legal risks in business operations and propose effective mitigation strategies. Manage audit requirements with the Finance team and oversee insurances
- Corporate governance: Ensure corporate governance compliance, advising the management team and Board. Provide organisation-wide legal training and continuously update compliance frameworks.Address legal queries from investors, maintaining an up-to-date cap table. Act as internal legal expert on fundraising activities
- Budget: Oversee and manage the legal budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for high ROI

As the climate crisis worsens, the company's services are in high demand, as indoor farms are essential in providing higher food security under increasingly challenging weather conditions. Source's hi-tech farms are able to protect crops against extreme heat, cold, rainfall or pests.
The company continues to invest in the development of its software that is making greenhouses smarter, whilst also onboarding new customers and expanding partnerships. It is well-funded, which has enabled accelerated product development and supported the expansion of commercial collaborations.
