Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, HVAC, or renewable energy
- Strong understanding of construction technologies, system components, and design principles
- Proficiency with Wrightsoft or similarly energy modeling tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with external stakeholders
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Experience in geothermal or ground-source heat pump systems
- Background working with homebuilders or multifamily developers
- Prior experience at a startup or high-growth company
What the job involves

- 👥 Team: Sales Engineering
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to support our Sales team in closing enterprise deals. You'll bring technical expertise to the table—leading geothermal system designs, building specs and budgets, and serving as a trusted resource for clients and partners throughout the sales process
- Support the Sales Team in Closing Enterprise Deals
- Develop customized geothermal proposals, including loop and manifold designs, heat pump specifications, and system integration plans
- Ensure proposals optimize performance, cost efficiency, and compatibility with rebate and incentive programs to support the sales process
- Collaborate with the Sales team to prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, quotes, and proposals tailored to client needs
- Create and Maintain Strong Customer Relationships
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to clients
- Work closely with home builders and multifamily developers to assess HVAC needs and recommend appropriate geothermal solutions
- Design Systems & Provide Technical Expertise
- Offer in-depth knowledge of geothermal technologies, components, and installation processes to educate clients and address technical questions
- Partner with and train enterprise sales teams on the technical aspects of geothermal heat pumps
- Collaborate with the engineering team to refine and improve product offerings
- Hand off technical specifications to Project Management team and support pre-construction through implementation
- Industry Compliance & Market Awareness
- Ensure all proposed systems meet industry standards and regulations, including tax incentives, utility rebates, and energy-efficiency requirements
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging geothermal technologies to maintain a competitive edge
Our take
Dandelion Energy aims to make geothermal heat pumps mainstream. In doing so, it offers homeowners affordable heating and cooling systems as an attractive alternative to furnace systems that rely on gas, oil and propane. It promises to cut bills in half whilst being climate conscious.
One issue taken is that whilst it offers this solution to cut the costs of bills, installation costs remain high. However there's no denying the environmental impacts heat pump usage could have. Replacing dated equipment with Dandelion's geothermal heating and cooling system could reduce a home’s CO₂ emissions by up to 75%.
Dandelion has impressive backers, unsurprising as a product incubated at Google’s Alphabet ‘X’. It has received a significant amount of funding led by Google Ventures, which it will use to sell its tech nationally as well as expand its work with new home and apartment building developers.
