Who you are
- Proven technical proficiency with the ability to develop solutions using REST APIs, webhooks, and scripting to customize Recharge implementations
- Hands-on experience building and deploying technical solutions in a pre-sales or customer-facing engineering role
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of quickly diagnosing technical challenges and implementing effective solutions
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at translating complex technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- A track record of continuous learning and adaptability, with a deep desire to understand new technologies and apply them effectively
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales processes, leveraging technical knowledge to drive deal success and streamline sales cycles
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or similar), or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development
What the job involves
- We are hiring a Sales Engineer to address the increasing demand on our Sales Engineering team
- As our pipeline grows, we require a technically skilled individual who not only understands our product inside and out but can also develop and test solutions tailored to merchant needs
- This role is critical in enabling our sales team to succeed by bridging the gap between technical feasibility and business requirements
- Beyond simply supporting sales, this person will actively build and refine solutions, leveraging Recharge’s capabilities—including our API—to craft scalable and efficient implementations
- Their technical expertise and problem-solving ability will be instrumental in overcoming complex challenges, ensuring merchant success, and ultimately driving revenue growth
- Develop and implement tailored technical solutions that align Recharge’s product capabilities with merchant needs, ensuring successful adoption and long-term satisfaction
- Gain deep expertise in Recharge’s platform, APIs, and integrations, enabling you to design and execute custom technical solutions that drive sales and solve complex merchant challenges
- Actively troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues, ensuring seamless integration and operation of Recharge within merchant environments
- Collaborate with Account Executives to strategically position Recharge’s technical value, demonstrating how our solutions align with merchant goals and drive business outcomes
- Lead hands-on product demonstrations and technical workshops, clearly articulating Recharge’s capabilities and benefits to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Influence product development by sharing insights from merchants and market needs, ensuring Recharge continues to evolve as a best-in-class solution

Our take
Ecommerce platform Recharge has been in operation since 2014, helping brands set up and manage a subscription business, removing the operational inefficiencies that brands would face when attempting to manage this themselves. Its cloud-based subscription management platform aims to offer merchants flexibility by leading with an API focus.
Recharge’s basic premise has proven a smart one, with the eCommerce subscription market growing substantially since the company was founded. It of course rose particularly steeply over the pandemic, with the closure of brick-and-mortar stores, but in general still follows a market trend towards direct-to-consumer relationships - promising a growing market for Recharge going forwards.
Success for the company has been clear, with its merchant roster boasting several thousand users including Harry’s, Oatly, and BrewDog. The sector has attracted substantial funding, with Recharge completing a remarkable funding round in 2021. This came atop its already stable, cash-flow-positive business, and supported its further progress as the subscription industry developed. The company is focused on maintaining its strong position, with new updates and improvements to its offering including Retain, a suite of tools designed to support retention throughout the subscriber lifecycle.
