Who you are
- 2+ years experience working in data analytics and/or customer-facing roles
- Strong SQL skills
- Passionate about working with data
- Love learning; enthusiastic about helping and teaching others
- Prior experience with business intelligence and/or enterprise data analytics tools preferred (such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Mode, Sisense, etc)
What the job involves
- As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will become an expert in the Omni platform, empowering our customers to do more with their data throughout their lifecycle
- You will work with companies across all different industries, regions, and company sizes
- We have a high-touch forward-deployed model, and through our process you will constantly be learning and discovering new use cases and needs
- You will advocate for our users, and help shape product direction as you share experiences and feedback from the field
- Partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise in the sales process and beyond, helping uncover and prove out use cases to showcase the value of the Omni platform
- Build and present Proofs of Concept in the Omni Platform as part of the evaluation process, while enabling prospective customers on how to successfully use Omni on their data
- Smoothly transition trials into successful customers, by partnering with post-sales teams, and engaging with our partners to plan for ongoing support where needed
- Collaborate extensively with Product, Design, and Engineering to provide user feedback and guide product direction
Our take
The founding trio behind Omni led teams at major business intelligence startup Looker (now owned by Google), as well as data integration company Stitch.
During their time at these companies, they learned that the more business intelligence teams aspire to be data-driven, the more data they have to integrate and query, and as a result, the more complex it becomes to analyze.
In a bid to outperform their previous employers, Omni’s business intelligence software features a centralized, structured platform which is designed to be more user friendly, while still allowing data analysts the freedom and flexibility of a more advanced BI stack.
It’s not only Looker that Omni has to contend with however. The likes of Pyramid Analytics and Metabase are growing quickly in a fiercely competitive BI space. This hasn’t deterred its investors though, who have shown their confidence in Omni’s founding team as the company looks to shake up the market.
