Who you are

- 3-5+ years of strategy, ops, or analytical experience; ideally 2 years sales facing experience at a fast-paced technology company is preferred

- True passion for sales: you creatively find ways to make sales teams more productive
- Deep experience with typical sales-stack technologies and analytical tools (e.g., SFDC, Tableau, or similar)

- Hyper-organized with strong attention to detail; effective stakeholder and project management is the bare minimum and is part of your secret sauce

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Sales Operations professional to partner with Gusto Health insurance (HI) sales leaders
- As a key contributor to our sales team, you will play a critical role in developing the go-to-market capabilities for our high-growth sales team
- This role provides a unique opportunity in that you will support and help shape a rapidly growing and strategically important segment of our business
- Day-to-day support of sales program: Provide day-to-day support to our Sales leadership, including ad hoc decision-making support, reporting and analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and one-off projects while navigating a nuanced channel sales motion. Process design and improvement: Identify, draft, and implement process and tool improvements that lead to business objectives: higher conversion rates, sales efficiency, better Gustie user experience, and better customer experience
- Sales Productivity & Enablement: Develop pipeline management best practices, and metrics/analytics to enable sales productivity. Translate pain points into comprehensive business requirements and projects
- Revenue Analytics: Partner with our other RevOps team members, Finance team, and Marketing team to develop sales metrics, operational reporting, and forecasts
- Cross-Functional Partnerships: Partner effectively with Sales leadership, Finance & Business Operations, Marketing, and Product teams
Our take
For many small businesses, vital administrative tasks such as payroll, taxes, and benefits are manual tasks that take time and energy which many SMB owners don’t have. The three co-founders of Gusto – all coming from small business backgrounds – collaborated on a Fintech company that would handle employee payments, benefits administration, and compliance support specifically for small businesses.
The company may have started slowly, as the founders focused on nailing each individual aspect of Gusto’s operations, but has now skyrocketed to unicorn status with more than 200,000 customers and a multi-billion dollar valuation. In 2021, Gusto began acquiring other companies to strengthen its offering and its position in a competitive market, including two other fintech startups, Ardius and Symmetry.
Through its continued acquisitions and fundraising efforts, the company has carved out a strong position for itself in the space. Although Gusto has found itself impacted by the macroeconomic situation, through the significant effect it has had on its clientele, the company still appears positive for the future after raising funds in 2023 that will see it reach key profitability benchmarks. It continues to consolidate its platform, for example by integrating with OpenComp to grant its users access to the company's Compensation Intelligence Platform.
