Who you are

This role requires a mix of working across multiple complex projects with limited instructions, critical thinking, strong execution, commercial-mindedness, excellent storytelling, and a proven ability to partner optimally across multiple teams and divisions
Experienced in content strategy, analytics, commercial, planning, and performance in gaming, apps, video, music, or subscription services
Strong analytical and numerical skills. Ability to break down complex data and present it clearly and actionably
Proven experience working in impactful teams, ideally in an international or remote working structure. Excellent communication skills for building relationships and influencing cross-functional partners
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically with persistent attention to detail. Adapt quickly and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
Knowledge and experience of the digital gaming landscape, key players, and competitive offerings
Ability to drive and prioritise your own workload, reporting clearly to the wider business
While this role will not be a people manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the results of programmes and initiatives

What the job involves

You’ll combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to build and lead well-rounded plans while understanding the customer, and the strategic & financial impact of those choices, ensuring the best decision
Content Strategy Development: Shape the PlayStation Plus content strategy, framework, lifecycle management, and tactics, determining which types of games are included in the service to delight our subscribers, while also crafting substantial value for publishers, supporting the company’s commercial success, and helping to evolve the service and benefits over time
Performance Analysis: Use data to understand player behaviours and shape the content strategy and genre/title targeting
Collaborative Partnership: Maintain strong networks across multiple business areas, including content acquisition, engagement, analytics, sales, marketing, third-party relations, and PlayStation Studios, to align strategies, optimise outcomes, and support internal initiatives
Commercial Insight: Apply customer, commercial, and publisher insights to inform and refine content plans
Long-Term Planning: Develop 1-3 year content strategies and plans that target and engage customer cohorts. Collaborate with partners to build long-term business plans that align with the broader PlayStation strategy
Budget Management: Support a multi-million-dollar content budget, shaping the strategy that defines how we to maximise impact

Our take

Since the release of the PS1 in 1994, PlayStation has been a consistent leader in the video gaming market. Its consoles are iconic in the gaming community - PlayStation has produced both the top-selling and fastest-selling console of all time - and the company is still pushing boundaries. Its current flagship - the PS5 - promises to revolutionise gaming, featuring new technology that will create improvements across the board.

As well as its consoles, PlayStation has also developed online services, connecting its users and giving them access to diversified media. A PlayStation can be used for a huge range of activities - from Netflix to guided workouts - which has led to the expansion of the company's audience over time and across generations.

PlayStation faces competition in its field from the likes of Microsoft, with its Xbox range, and PC gaming, which has been becoming more popular in recent years. Regardless, PlayStation shows no signs of slowing down. The upcoming implementation of in-game ads in free games looks to significantly increase revenue, and the wider PlayStation gaming experience also appears to be evolving from plans to launch live service games in upcoming years.
