Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development
- Proven expertise with React and/or React Native for building robust applications
- Experience with backend development preferred, including API design and implementation
- You have experience working in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- You have a desire to work in a fast paced environment, a bias for action, a passion for self-improvement, and helping to elevate and mentor those around you
- You're comfortable picking up new technologies (our team builds on Ruby, React, Kotlin, and React Native, and our stack will continue to evolve.)
- We are open to candidates who have worked in different languages but are open to learn
What the job involves
- As a Senior Frontend Engineer on one of our Core Experience Teams, you will play a crucial role in our engineering efforts behind critical product areas such as booking, scheduling, and payments
- This position involves significant contributions to our user-facing web and mobile applications, built with React.js and React Native, while also participating in the development of our backend services built using Kotlin
- You'll work within a collaborative team to deliver high-impact solutions that directly contribute to our product's success and user satisfaction
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality user-facing applications using React.js and/or React Native
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver effective solutions
- Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across our frontend and backend systems
- Help define and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and documentation
- Proactively identify and address technical debt and areas for improvement within the codebase
- Contribute to the continuous integration and deployment pipelines for web and mobile
- React-native for mobile
- Typescript / Javascript (React.js, Redux) for web
- Kotlin (micronaut, jooq), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), GRPC, Protobuf, and Postgres for backend

Recognising a gap in the market, GlossGenius has stepped in to provided a specialised business management platform for beauty salons, spas and studios.
With no competition in this niche, GlossGenius has swiftly captured a large market share, with triple-digit year on year revenue growth. It serves over 40,000 businesses (70% of which are women-owned) and has more than $2 billion in annual transactions on the platform.
GlossGenius has raised a large amount of capital in several funding rounds closed in quick succession. It is aiming to accelerate platform development off the back of its releasing of consumer experience, payment and automation products. It is well on the way to fulfilling its long-term aim of developing into the Toast of the beauty industry.
