Role

Who you are

You care deeply about producing high-quality work that delivers real value
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems collaboratively
You bring strong expertise in your craft, alongside a willingness to keep learning
You communicate clearly and build trust quickly with clients and teammates
You’re pragmatic, adaptable and outcome-focused
You value low-ego collaboration and enjoy working as part of multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrate proven expertise in executing seamless, phased modernization strategies to transition away from legacy platforms like COBOL, Oracle, and PHP with zero downtime, utilizing feature flags (LaunchDarkly), change data capture, and shadow data reconciliation

What the job involves

Architect and deploy scalable microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and TypeScript/Node.js on AWS EKS with Istio, alongside federated GraphQL via Apollo Router and RESTful web services
Drive front-end excellence using modern React frameworks (Vite, Tailwind CSS, BaseUI), managing shared component libraries in Storybook, and championing robust automated testing with Playwright and Vitest
Leverage deep cloud-native experience across AWS, Docker, Helm, Terraform, and Harness.IO, while managing databases like DocumentDB and PostgreSQL and migrating messaging workloads from SNS/SQS to Apache Kafka
Analyze and reverse-engineer legacy codebases to surface hidden business rules, applying rigorous validation to ensure complete functional equivalence
Design secure, high-performing hybrid architectures using mTLS links between AWS and on-premise infrastructure, conducting end-to-end load testing and ensuring system resilience
Champion technical quality and governance by establishing clear quality standards, defining comprehensive test frameworks, and enhancing architectural documentation across teams

Our take

As the need for digital transformation continues to grow, many organisations find themselves lacking the skills to keep up. AND Digital has stepped in to help bridge this gap, with a clear mission to close the world's digital skills shortage. Rather than simply delivering digital solutions, they focus on helping businesses understand how to work digitally, so they can continue to grow and adapt long after a project is finished.

The company is standing out from the crowd too, by working alongside their clients instead of working for them. Combining their own people with client teams into one collaborative unit, they identify challenges, build digital products, and share skills throughout the process, so clients can take full ownership of their apps, websites, and future digital work.

Unsurprisingly, this approach has had a strong impact and continues to drive AND Digital's growth. With cross-functional teams across the UK, the Netherlands, and the US East Coast, the company scales based on demand. And their city-based 'Club' model blends local, personalised service with the strength of a global organisation, putting AND Digital in a strong position for the future.
