Who you are
- Experience and Background: A strong background in working for multiple years at top-tier companies/scale-ups at executive support roles, strategy (consulting) or M&A/VC, growth leadership, or have graduated from a Top Tier university with top grades including extraordinary internships in top tier consultancies, big tech, successful hyper-scale start-ups or top financial institutions/VCs
- Preferably you also have start-up/scale-up experience
- Proactivity & Hands-on mentality: You know how to be one step ahead, are extremely structured, address things proactively, understand how to communicate in a prioritized way, and never forget about the details
- If you see something, you don't just say something, but you fix it at the same time (and best, anticipate issues before they even arise)
- You are also not "too good" for doing mundane tasks, whether it is booking a restaurant or cleaning data tables to have better analyses
- A hyper scale-up means everyone is Hands-On
- Curiosity & Attention to detail: You love to learn
- You do not just superficially want to understand, but actually gather the skillset and therefore are curious, ask questions, and create logical connections between topics
- Your curiosity also drives you to want to become excellent
- You don't like being 80/20, you want to be the best and love both understanding the high-level context, but also truly are on top of the details
- Cross-Functional management: You excel in coordinating cross-functional teams and have a track record of successfully managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders, have excellent time management, and are on top of things
- Strategic Mindset: Your analytical, numbers-driven, and strategic thinking skills enable you to identify growth opportunities and make data-driven decisions that align with the company's objectives
- You have good knowledge about spreadsheets and preferably SQL skills but generally are just great at data, pattern spotting, and contextual intelligence
- Excellent Communication: Your exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, allow you to interact confidently with executives, team members, and stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds across our multiple countries
- Enthusiasm for Sales & Marketing: Preferably you have a background in sales & marketing (studies or practical experience) or a strong passion for growth
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required, and additional fluency in German, French, Italian, Spanish, or other European languages is advantageous due to the multinational scope of the role
- Confidentiality and Integrity: As a trusted advisor to the CRO, you handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of integrity in your actions
What the job involves
- You are the right and left hand of the Chief Revenue Officer (Chief Growth Officer {CGO} in Hive terms), helping steer one of the fastest growing growth (marketing, sales, account management, and revenue operations) organizations in Europe
- A Strategy Associate (Chief of Staff) is at our company both owning admin, as well as strategic responsibilities and business shaping projects in full ownership (≈30% admin / 70% strategy & project work)
- Generate impact: Your laser-sharp mind, fast learning capability, analytical excellence, and stakeholder management will develop strategies, analyses, and own projects that determine the future success of our company
- Whether it is identifying the next growth areas (country expansion, segment expansion, etc), hockey-sticking an acquisition channel, or improving global cross-team collaboration, by creating the most memorable growth offsite out there - all you do is create impact
- And not just by writing the strategies, but actually implementing them and owning them as well
- Learn, learn, learn: The Chief Revenue Officer (CGO) will share everything with you and not only support you to learn how to grow a company but also build one
- With his multi-year experience in leading large growth teams, from Marketing, Revenue Operations to Sales to how to work with investors, how to close deals, and how to truly build something that grows sustainably, as well as experience at McKinsey & Company, Google, you will get full access to his learnings
- And the rest of the organization is also extremely happy to share their relevant experience from global superstar companies and their time at the scale-up
- Get exposure: Work with the C-Suite and the whole Growth leadership team
- Lead meetings, steer the conversation, and influence the way decisions get taken, by being a key confidant and stakeholder in how we scale the company
- Optimize to a T: Truly have a go at improving the status quo, starting with the small things of improving the effectiveness of the CRO (calendar improvements, coordination, follow-ups, etc) to the organizational one (best practice materials, how to improve the performance marketing channel, etc)
- Be attentive and take ownership: The longer you will stay and excel, the more you will truly own
- While in the beginning, these might be leadership meetings that you prep, host, and follow up, this can be taking over whole key projects for the company or even teams
- A previous Associate took over the whole Marketing team interimistically, literally read 2 books and watched best practice videos of Google Ads the week before, and then led a team of on average 10 years older colleagues with true excellence

Hive’s Warehouse Management System works in tandem with its Transport Management System to organise and economise the operations of eCommerce businesses. Importantly, its network of solutions means that users can give their customers an accurate delivery date from the moment of purchase online. This leads to a better experience that can help foster loyalty and support repeat purchases.
This is an attractive proposition, especially as eCommerce begins to take over from the high street and consumer expectations continue to rise. Investors have recognised this potential in Hive, which intends to use its latest funding round to accelerate growth and product development, with the ultimate aim to reach consistent profitability soon.
