- You’re always asking, “why?” You push past what data merely says and are deeply intrigued to unpack what it is telling us
- You are a beneath-the-surface level thinker who is curious about how data, culture, and creativity intersect, and excited by the idea of using data to shape ideas, not just report on performance
- You enjoy digging into social, audience, and behavioral data, spotting patterns, and turning messy inputs into clear insights that inform strategy and creative work
- You’re detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn how data can influence everything from campaign planning to cultural storytelling to business growth
- Must be a rising senior or recent college graduate
- This internship is based out of our Brooklyn, NY office, required to be in-person Monday through Thursday
- Must to be able to attend the internship from June 2nd through August 7th

What the job involves
- Support social listening, audience research, and performance analysis to uncover cultural and consumer insights
- Help build and QA dashboards, trackers, and simple data models across platforms (social, web, brand lift, etc.)
- Analyze campaign performance and translate findings into clear, visual, and compelling narratives
- Assist in developing insight frameworks, audience segments, and measurement approaches for brand and culture projects
- Partner with strategists and creatives to bring data into early-stage thinking, not just reporting
- As an intern at UMT, you are an integrated member of the team. You’ll spend 10 weeks gaining the kind of "hands-on" experience that actually moves the needle

Our take
Music distribution services provide ways for musical artists to release their music in both digital and physical formats. However, musicians usually don't retain the often lucrative rights to audio masters and audience insights, and merchandising and concert tickets must be organised elsewhere.
UnitedMasters is a music distribution service that acts as a direct pipeline for musicians and their commercial efforts. The service allows users to retain the rights to audio masters and audience data, in addition to providing a platform for the sale of merchandise and concert tickets. The platform’s aim is to give artists full control over the monetization of their music based on a regular subscription cost.
UnitedMasters has attracted significant backing from heavyweights like Apple, a16z, and Alphabet, while securing partnerships with platforms like Bose, TikTok, and Twitch. More than just validation, these relationships expand how artists can be discovered, promoted and monetized at scale - opening doors to major commercial and record deal opportunities that go well beyond the reach of traditional distribution platforms.
